a small poem by Joe J Thomas
Tiny thoughts, those little things.
They steal my time. They clip my wings.
I see they bother you as well.
Inside your head is where they dwell.
Why do I worry, moan and fret?
I have no need – my course is set!
Minutia swim around my ship.
They ebb and flow. They plunk and drip.
But in the end it’s up to me.
To get away, I must be free!
The answer’s clear – it’s plain as day.
I have the power to send them away.
By focusing upon my path.
The little thoughts that stir my wrath.
They scatter in the light of day.
There is no room for them to stay!
And so I give this gift to you.
Step back and breathe. Find what is true.
Those little thoughts that slow you down.
Ignore them all, and go to town!
